YouTube and AI: New Languages in Comment Summaries

YouTube seems to be using AI in the operation of literally every section of its site. This time a really cool update came out: sorting comments by topic. How does it work? We’ll share in this news post.

Back in November, the YouTube team introduced AI-assisted sorting of comments by topic. English-speaking audiences loved the feature. Frankly, we can understand why. It’s really user-friendly. Here’s what it looks like:

What’s changed? Now that the English-speaking audiences have tested the feature, YouTube has expanded the number of languages that will also support AI Comment Summaries.

By the way, that’s not all! The same feature will be available in different languages on Shorts very soon as well. Here’s what the YouTube team itself thinks about it:

“We’re expanding our comment topics experiment to include all languages supported by YouTube comments. We heard positive feedback when we launched this feature within large comment sections on English-language videos, so we’re happy to be testing it in more languages across more content.”

In our opinion, the feature will be convenient not only for viewers while watching, but also for creators while analyzing video metrics. Thus, YouTubers can understand the audience’s reaction, as well as delete comments in each section more quickly.
